Description:
TamZen D is a combination medication formulated to address symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. It combines the alpha-blocker Tamsulosin, which relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, and Dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that reduces the size of the prostate gland over time.
This dual-action therapy provides both immediate symptom relief and long-term benefits in reducing prostate enlargement.
Indications:
TamZen D is indicated for:
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH):
- Relief from lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), such as:
- Difficulty in urination.

- Prevention of acute urinary retention (AUR).

- Blood Donation: Avoid donating blood while on Dutasteride and for 6 months after stopping treatment to prevent exposure to pregnant recipients.
- Liver Disorders: Use with caution in patients with liver impairment.
Side Effects:

- Dizziness or fainting (especially when standing up).
- Ejaculation disorders.
- Decreased libido.
- Breast tenderness or enlargement.
- Rare but Serious:

- Persistent painful erection (priapism).
