Description:

TamZen D is a combination medication formulated to address symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. It combines the alpha-blocker Tamsulosin, which relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, and Dutasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor that reduces the size of the prostate gland over time.

This dual-action therapy provides both immediate symptom relief and long-term benefits in reducing prostate enlargement.

Indications:

TamZen D is indicated for:

  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH):
    • Relief from lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), such as:
      • Difficulty in urination.
      • Frequent urination, especially at night.
      • Incomplete bladder emptying.
    • Prevention of acute urinary retention (AUR).
    • Reducing the need for surgical intervention in BPH.

Benefits:

  1. Symptom Relief:
    • Tamsulosin ensures smooth urinary flow by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder.
  2. Prostate Size Reduction:
    • Dutasteride helps shrink the prostate gland, improving symptoms over time.
  3. Prevention of Complications:
    • Reduces the risk of urinary retention and surgery for BPH.
  4. Convenient Dosage:
    • Single-tablet therapy eliminates the need for multiple medications.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Recommended Dosage: One tablet daily, preferably after a meal, at the same time each day.
  • Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

  • Allergies: Avoid in patients allergic to Tamsulosin, Dutasteride, or other ingredients in the tablet.
  • Pregnancy and Women Handling:
